The Knoxville Baseball Squad held its own against Oskaloosa on Tuesday night but fell to the Indians 5-3. The Panthers stayed in it until the end, but Oskaloosa pulled away late with three runs in the top of the seventh. Mike Hudson led Knoxville at the plate going 3/4. Panther senior Carter Bailey told KRLS Sports hitting is one area of emphasis right now.

Bailey:
“There are a few things we could be working on hitting. Their lefty was pretty good, he had a sharp break to his ball, a lot of our guys had a hard time hitting him. He threw pretty hard, too. We didn’t do bad at the plate, but there’s a lot of things to work on like first pitch in the zone. Might not always be the perfect pitch, but you have to put it in play.”

Knoxville is now 1-3 and will travel to Principal Park to play Ames tonight. You can hear that game live on 95.3 KNIA beginning with the pregame at 6:45pm. Also hear a full interview with Bailey on tonight’s Radio Sports Page at 6:00pm on 92-point-one KRLS.
