Conditions will remain hot and humid for most of the work week. High temperatures will reach the mid 90s across southern Iowa and dew points will climb into the mid 60s to lower 70s. As a result, this may boost heat index values into the triple digits. The humidity is expected to stay for awhile and at least into the weekend. This is an important week to remember that the temperature inside a vehicle rapidly increases to values unsafe for human survival. Vehicles can become dangerous when sitting in sunlight for a little as 30 minutes without air conditioning.
