The Tulip City baseball teams will get back together this evening at Eagle Lane for the final meeting of the season. In the final conference game of the season for both teams, it will be a chance for Pella Christian to pick up some steam as the Class 2A postseason draws near. Eagles coach Jeff Bruxvoort says that his team will certainly be ready for the rivalry contest, and hopes to build upon the success the team has experienced throughout the week.

“Our guys will be ready, it’s that game. It’s the last regular season home game for us on Friday night, so excited for that opportunity. I hope we come out early and score early and a lot, and we pitch well as well. And a lot of positive things can come from that. Hopefully that happens, and hopefully we can fill the stands.”

The Little Dutch enter with a 1-2 record in games this week, and can potentially finish in the top half of the Little Hawkeye standings with a win. Pella will have some more time before the postseason, with a slate of six non-conference games leading up to the playoffs. Tonight’s winner receives bragging rights for the season, as the teams split a doubleheader during the first week of the season.

Tonight’s game will be broadcast on the KRLS3 stream at KNIAKRLS.com, with Jon Mohwinkle calling the action. Pregame coverage begins at 7:15, with the opening pitch scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Pella Christian High School.
