The Knoxville Softball Squad defeated Davis County last night 4-3. The Panthers were up 3-0 in the first inning before the Mustangs fought back to make it close. Maddy Findley for the second straight night hit a home run going 2/3 and two RBI, Olivia Maasdam was the other Panther that had multiple hits with two. Jadyn Streigle got the win in the circle going five innings and striking out five. Coach Carla Smith tells KRLS Sports Streigle has worked hard over the offseason and during this season to have several pitches she can go to.

Smith:
“Jadyn has done a great job in the offseason, she usually comes in and pitches JV nearly every night. She has done a great job of working on her spin, getting a couple different pitches going, working on a rise ball, and has a couple different pitches, and she’s done a great job and just puts it through for us.”

Knoxville is now 7-3 and finishes South Central Conference play at 5-2. The Panthers are off until Tuesday when they host Bondurant-Farrar. Meanwhile, across the way on Panther Drive, the Knoxville Baseball Squad fell behind early and could not come back in a 14-1 loss to Davis County on Friday. The Panthers struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Davis County, giving up 14 runs on 13 hits and committing three errors. Davis County had the big blow with five runs in the third and five more in the sixth inning to send fans home in the sixth inning. The Panthers got just four hits with Mike Hudson getting the lone RBI. Knoxville is now 4-7 on the season and will travel to Newton on Monday.
