The PCM summer sports teams both fell to North Polk Friday in Heart of Iowa Conference action. The softball team dropped a 9-0 decision on their home field to wrap up the week of games. PCM fell behind 3-0 in the third inning, and could never recover against the Class 3A #8 Comets. North Polk added two runs in the fourth and five in the fifth to round out the scoring. The Mustangs put together just five base hits in the game. PCM falls to 3-10 overall and 3-7 in the conference.

In unusual fashion, the games were split between the schools, as the PCM baseball team traveled to Alleman. The Mustangs could not sustain momentum from a wild game on Thursday, and dropped an 8-3 contest. PCM falls to 4-7 overall and 4-6 in the conference.

Both teams will be back in action Monday, traveling to Gilbert for a Heart of Iowa Conference doubleheader.
