The Knoxville City Council met in regular session Monday. The council held three public hearings, the first regarding provisions pertaining to camping in city limits, the second regarding the rental inspection program, and the third for residential zone intents to clarify the city code of ordinance

In regards to camping within city limits the council did not take any action regarding the matter and instead will send the amendment back to the city’s planning and zoning committee for adjustments.

The council approved first consideration while waiving second and third consideration to adopt an ordinance amending the code of ordinances by adding a new chapter regarding a rental inspection program for the city. The city will now put together an appeals process for the program that will be considered at another city council meeting.

They approved residential zoning intents for the city as well as a plat of survey for a parcel of land located at Lot 8 in the Westridge Addition.
