The Indianola City Council approved a temporary suspension of the 3-hour parking limit on and around the square at their most recent meeting Monday, after concerns were raised about the limit not working in the best interests for local businesses. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News continuing discussions have been held with the Indianola Chamber of Commerce and businesses on and near the square, and this certainly doesn’t signal the end of the process.

“This will allow us to continue our conversations with local organizations in developing more modern and appropriate parking restrictions once the courthouse and streetscape project come to a close, for those on the square and those using the square on a regular basis.”

Waller also said the city will continue to work with the Chamber and businesses on what the regulations should be. For more information, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
