As COVID-19 continues to impact the country, school districts are finding new ways to keep people safe with uncertainty still looming over how school will resume in the fall. Despite the uncertainty the Knoxville Community School District is continuing to do their part to keep people safe. According to Superintendent Cassi Pearson the district is currently working on a 100% online registration for students who will attend the district this fall. Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News the online registration will allow parents to verify all their children’s information is correct, sign their kids up for school and take care of any fees they might owe. She says parents will also be able to deposit money into their children’s lunch accounts as well. She says the online registration should be up and running for parents to take advantage of by the middle to end of July.

Pearson says the online registration will help limit contact between persons to help slow the spread of the virus. To hear the complete interview with Pearson, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Knoxville.
