The postponement of the Warren County Fair was not a decision made lightly by the Warren County Fair Board, and made after extensive conversations with the International Associations of Fairs and Expositions, the Association of Iowa Fairs, Iowa Department of Public Health, Warren County Public Health, and local emergency departments. Organizer Jo Reynolds tells KNIA News a large number of volunteers are needed to make the fair go, and their safety was a large factor in the decision.

“We were concerned about the safety of our visitors, we were concerned about the number of people that could actually come out and enjoy the fair, we were concerned about people having money to spend because of jobs leaving and businesses closing in the area, and we were concerned mostly about our volunteer pool. Many of those volunteers are in the age of potentially being health compromised.”
