melcher-dallas-7

The Melcher-Dallas Softball Squad got out to a five-run lead in the fourth inning and held on for a 5-3 victory over Cardinal on Friday. Cardinal scored three runs in the failed comeback. BrieAnna Remster picked up the win allowing seven hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out nine. Haley Godfrey went 2/3 at the plate to lead Melcher-Dallas. The Saints will host Murray on Monday in the first round of the class 1A regional. The Saints baseball Squad will wait no longer as Melcher-Dallas will embark on its class 1A district tonight. Awaiting the Saints is the number one ranked and top seed Martensdale-St. Mary’s. While Coach Pat Ferguson knows this will be a mountain the size of Mt. Kilimanjaro to climb, he does want his players to do one important thing during pregame.

Ferguson:
“Watch how they talk, watch how they throw the ball around. Just watching them will make you better because you’ll learn from that. They’re going to throw the ball around, they’re well coached they’re going to communicate, they’re going to fire the ball around, they’re going to do every little aspect of the game of baseball and they do it correctly.”

Game time from Martensdale is scheduled for 7:00pm. The winner gets the survivor of the Twin Cedars and Lynnville-Sully contest.
