The Knoxville Baseball Squad will start a new week of action with a home game against Fairfield on Monday. It was originally a doubleheader but has not been changed to a JV/Varsity matchup. The Panthers come into the twin bill at 8-9 on the season after a 14-1 loss to Indianola on Friday. Coach Turner Devore tells KRLS Sports his team played its best baseball of the season last week and hopes that it can continue into Friday’s class 3A district opener against Winterset. He adds playing teams like Mount Pleasant and Indianola last week helped show what his team still needs to improve on during the final week of the regular season…

Devore:
“Indianola and Mt. Pleasant both put pressure on us with the bunt, so we need to improve on some little things defensively, and just hope we continue to swing the bats like we have the last week.”

You can hear Monday’s game on 95.3 KNIA beginning at 7:30pm.
