A Knoxville man was arrested in Ottumwa Monday after he allegedly left the scene of a motorcycle accident in which his girlfriend was injured. According to court documents 36-year-old Trevor White of Knoxville was arrested for a warrant out of Washington County for leaving the scene of an accident with serious injuries near West Chester. The incident which occurred on the evening of July 1st, involved a woman injured in a motorcycle wreck who needed to be airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospital for treatment of injuries.

That night an emergency call was received with a person saying a man had come up to their house and told them his girlfriend was hurt from a motorcycle accident, but didn’t want them to call for help. He then walked away and had a dog with him.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and heard a person yelling for help off of the roadway. 

White, who has a lengthy criminal record which includes previous charges of vehicular homicide and vehicular homicide/reckless driving from 2005 as well as multiple felony domestic related charges including false imprisonment and domestic abuse assault, was charged with interference with official acts resulting in serious injury, driving while barred, leaving the scene of an accident with serious injury, and reckless driving.
