One month ago today was the number eight moment on this year’s countdown of the top 10 Pleasantville moments of the past school year. The Trojan softball team played host to Des Moines Christian in West Central Conference action, and it was one of the most dominant wins of the year for the team.

It only took five innings for the Trojans to secure the 11-0 victory. It was a steady start to the game for Pleasantville, scoring two runs in the first and three in the second. The only scoreless inning was the third. It was a big fourth inning with four runs scored, and the Trojans finished the game with two runs in the fifth.

Pleasantville had 13 base hits on the night and three home runs. Two of those belonged to Amber McKinney, who had three hits total. Josie Sowers also had three base hits, and Mallory McKinney had the other home run.

Not only were the Trojans sizzling at the plate, it was a dominant performance in the circle. Using two pitchers, Pleasantville gave up just three hits and one walk while striking out six batters.

Pleasantville finished the season 7-11 and graduated three seniors.
