roadwork-ahead

Road construction continues in Knoxville as the Highway 14 Road Diet is approximately one month from completion. The interlayer lift has been installed, and resurfacing will begin next week.

Curb and gutter repairs are in the final stages. Storm sewer work has begun south of Weiler Drive, and contractors have begun work on the pedestrian ramps. The project also calls for 11 new traffic signals to be installed, with completion scheduled for mid-August.

To accommodate the expected surge in traffic with upcoming racing events in Knoxville, construction work will pause for the 360 Nationals on August 6th-8th, and the NOS Energy Sprint Car Series on August 13th-15th.

To date, the project has not experienced significant delays or setbacks due to weather or COVID-19. The project is expected to be completed in early September.
