The Pleasantville School Board held a special work session Wednesday evening to discuss potential athletic facility upgrades and the district’s Return-to-Learn plan.

The board held a discussion about upgrading and widening the track at the football field, as well as installing FieldTurf on the football field. Gymnasium and locker room facilities were also discussed. The discussion was ultimately tabled to allow board members to gather more information on costs and other impacts.

The board announced that no decisions have been made concerning mask requirements for staff or students. The district has ordered and received 300 masks and 200 face shields to distribute to staff. The district has also purchased 25 robotic cameras which will follow teachers’ movements around classrooms for the purpose of remote learning.

The board plans to await further guidance from the state Board of Education, and will develop a plan for the upcoming school year in August.
