The Indianola City Council approved an agreement with the Indianola YMCA at their most recent meeting, agreeing to lower the rent payments but also stipulating certain performance requirements. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News the money the YMCA pays in rent goes towards the maintenance of the building, and no property tax dollars pay for the YMCA operations. Waller also said the YMCA has a two-year notice clause in the agreement if they are going to pull out of the facility, and if they do the city will be forced to take on the operations of the facility.
