Monday was the first day of fall practice as a new sports season begins across the state.

In two weeks, competition will begin in the Little Hawkeye Conference, and in the Tulip City, it starts when Pella volleyball hosts Ballard on Tuesday, August 25th. The Eagles volleyball team will start playing at the Bondurant Tournament on the 29th, before opening at home on September 1st against Norwalk.

The Pella and Pella Christian cross country teams are currently scheduled to open with a pair of home meets to open 2020 — a quad with Grinnell and Oskaloosa will be held at Central College on August 29th, followed by the annual Central College invitational on September 5th.

Pella swimmers with the Newton NCMP team will begin action on Thursday, August 27th at Des Moines Roosevelt.

Both football teams open on Friday, August 28th — Pella travels to Dallas Center-Grimes, while Pella Christian heads to Des Moines Christian. Hear the Dutch at Mustangs live on 92.1 KRLS, and the Eagles and Lions on KRLS2 at KNIAKRLS.com.
