The City of Indianola has seen another slight increase in COVID-19 cases over the weekend, with an increase of five cases within city limits for a total of 149, and an additional three not within city limits but inside the Indianola Fire District for 37, bringing the total to affect Indianola at 186 cases.
Warren County continues to see a moderate growth of cases compared to the month of July, with 18 additional cases since the latest update on August 7th for a total of 564, with 348 recoveries to again drop active cases from 226 to 216. Warren County saw a growth of 251 cases over the month of July, and has currently seen a growth of 70 cases since the beginning of August.
The most recent Marion County Situation Report shows a growth of 15 cases since their August 6th update with a total of 203 cases that have affected the area, with a slight growth of six active cases, sitting at 26 overall.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has set a 15% positive test rate as a metric that might indicate schools should move to remote learning. Currently both Warren and Marion County’s 14 day average is at 6%, and seven counties are above the threshold including Lucas County and Clarke County to the south.
