The rich tradition of Pella cross country is expected to continue once again this fall. The Iowa Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released their initial rankings, and the Little and Lady Dutch are once again in the Top 15. Pella’s boys rank 9th coming into the 2020 season, and have a depth of returners, keyed by two-time All-State runner Josiah Wittenberg and a group of teammates with multiple years of varsity experience. The Lady Dutch enter No. 14 in the ratings, and enter largely as an unknown, graduating Caroline McMartin and a large senior class. Abby Cutler and Ashley Blommers are the top returning varsity runners this fall. The Pella cross country teams are currently planning to open the season at the Central College invitational on September 5th, however, the Dutch, Eagles, and two LHC teams are working on a possible quad meet the weekend before.
