At Senator Chuck Grassley’s visit to Weiler on Friday, he visited with employees on current issues. Among the considerations within the legislature is a second stimulus package. Grassley says that while there are disagreements on certain aspects of a potential package, many senators agree that families with children and college students should receive a larger package.

“Where there seems to be a lot of agreement, except on the dollar amount, there’s agreement that we’ve got to get more for K-12 and college. And there shouldn’t be much disagreement in the dollar amount, but I told you how close we’ve moved the goalpost, but I think that can be ironed out. And then we Republicans, even though we don’t think we should have to, we’d probably give $150 billion more for state and local governments.”

Grassley also noted that the legislature will likely divide the Paycheck Protection Program into three categories, based on income and type of business.
