The Indianola City Council met in a study session Monday evening, discussing the Indianola Streetscape Project, which aims to create a more pedestrian friendly, inviting and activated space where businesses thrive and where residents and visitors choose to spend time. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News the project received direction from the council on several key areas.

“We are at 30% of the design right now, so that means of all the design work we are at 30%. One of the key factors we wanted to double-check with council on the goals of the project. Council gave us direction, they continue to support the conversion from one-way to two-way traffic on the square, and we presented them with all the data for pros and cons of the conversion. The council also supported bike lanes on Buxton St. that will connect several trails in the area.”
