A member of the Knoxville Raceway staff has tested positive for COVID-19 following last weekend’s “One and Only” race event, according to track officials. In accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, the individual isolated themself away from Knoxville Raceway upon notification, and will remain in quarantine.

The raceway has also learned of several positive COVID-19 tests within the past week within the Sprint Car racing community, including cases in Knoxville and beyond, including at least one racing team.

A maximum of 7,000 fans were permitted in the stands each night over the four nights of racing from August 11-14. Races were also held the previous week, with several thousands of fans from all over the country, and from other nations, in attendance. The rest of the racing season will proceed as scheduled as the track continues to monitor the situation.
