pleasantville-3

Trojan football has arrived.

After a 5-4 season filled with injuries and missing the playoffs, Pleasantville football is back and the team is just as hungry as ever to hit the field and show that they are no slouch, with a guaranteed playoff berth to boot as all teams in the state will qualify this year.

Leading the way in the locker room is Senior quarterback Caylor Clark, who is in his third year as the starter. Senior running back Isaac Mann joins him in the backfield for what is sure to be an offense to keep the fans– and opposing defenses– on their toes.

Head coach Mack Jorth feels that level of excitement along with his team and is excited to be under the lights for another season.

“I couldn’t be more pleased with the way our team has been approaching this pre-season. Just the level of effort, their willingness to work with each other and help each other and grow as a team is very encouraging and positive. We got some really great leadership stepping up to help their teammates get better and I couldn’t be more pleased with how they’re carrying themselves and creating a team atmosphere. I expect us to just absolutely go out and compete with outstanding effort every week and just start really getting after guys. We’re starting to understand that a bit and growing that way a little bit more this year. I’m really excited to see, just get out there and get after it against another opponent Friday night.”

Pleasantville kicks off their football season tonight at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. Hear select football games from the Trojans this fall on the KNIA3 stream at KNIAKRLS.com.
