Missouri River Energy Services officially dedicated the Red Rock Hydroelectric Project as the power plant nears completion. A video was released Wednesday with several speakers, including Congressman Dave Loebsack, Senator Joni Ernst, and Lt. Governor Adam Gregg and several contributors to the hydroelectric facility over the past ten years of developing and constructing the power plant generating electricity from the Des Moines River at Lake Red Rock.

Senior Vice President of Power Supply and Operations Ray Wahl with Missouri River Energy Services says construction provided several challenges with the retrofitting of a power plant on an existing dam that is crucial flood control in the state of Iowa, but the benefit generating of renewable energy for up to a century was worth the investment.

Wahl praised the City of Pella and thanked Marion County residents for their patience during construction.
