The Knoxville Regional Livestock Market has announced that it is suspending all sales for the month of September and until further notice. A statement from the market said “This is not a decision that we have taken lightly but at this time we are left with no alternative. We want to thank all of our customers, buyers and employees that have entrusted in us over the past several years.” A representative declined to provide more information.

The Knoxville Regional Livestock Market has served the area since its inception in the early 1930s at the Marion County Fairgrounds, and has had five different owners. The first permanent location was built in 1934, and the current location was built in 1984.
