The precipitation ranging from 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 inches this week should mitigate and relieve the moderate to severe drought conditions reported across central Iowa and in most of the state.

The brunt of rainfall is over after a dreary week, and much more seasonable and comfortable conditions are in the forecast, as daytime highs reach the mid-70s today and hover around 80 degrees all next week, with sunny skies in the forecast until next weekend.
