Two local organizations partnered together this fall to support organizations working with people who have intellectual disabilities.

The Red Rock Chapter of 100+ Men on a Mission presented a check of $10,500 to the Pella Knights of Columbus to support their 22nd annual Campaign for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities.

Linn Roose with 100+ Men on a Mission says their group was issued a challenge by the Knights to match funds in a friendly competition, which between the two organizations, raised approximately $20,000 divided to Christian Opportunity Center, the Pella and Pella Christian Special Education Departments, Wonder Spelen, and Iowa Special Olympics. This is in addition to thousands of dollars raised by the Knights from August 22nd to 29th to support those groups.

Roose invites any man living in the Red Rock Area who wants to impact charities on a larger scale to attend their next quarterly meeting in November, currently scheduled to be held in Prairie City, and to become a member. Those who want to join 100+ Men on a Mission can find more details on their Facebook Page.
