The Indianola Community School District is participating in a program from the USDA that extends the Summer Food Program guidelines for emergency COVID meals for all school-aged children through December 31st, 2020 or until the funds run out. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News all breakfast and lunch meals are currently free for all students, and a notice will go out immediately when information is released that the funds have run out for the program. Sathoff also said the district highly encourages parents/guardians who might qualify to fill out the Iowa Eligibility Meal Application to apply for free and reduced status to receive the appropriate meal benefits when the program ends.
