The Pella area came together once again to help those with special needs in the community.

Joe Lickteig with the Pella Knights of Columbus says despite the economic difficulties of COVID-19, the 22nd annual Campaign for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities well exceeded fundraising goals, which will support local schools and organizations who were also hard hit by pandemic, including: Christian Opportunity Center, the Pella and Pella Christian Special Education Departments, Wonder Spelen, and Iowa Special Olympics.

Lickteig says over the next several weeks, the Knights of Columbus will be presenting checks to those groups. Earlier this week, 100+ Men on a Mission donated $10,500 to the cause for their quarterly project of choice, in part to compete with local Knights in a friendly fundraising competition with matching funds.
