The Indianola football squad will make a road trip to Sioux City to take on the Wolverines of Sioux City West this evening. The Indians have been on the wrong end of some incredibly close contests this season, including a last minute loss to Urbandale last week. Head coach Eric Kluver tells KNIA Sports he knows his players take the losses hard, but that is a good thing and shows what they need to do to win.

“They are the ones that put in the work, and this is their senior season for a lot of them. So it’s just really keeping their chins up, and letting them know that if we continue to improve and do the little things to correct some of the little mistakes along the way, we are going to be a very good football team in the end and that’s our plan.”

The game can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30, with kickoff scheduled for 7pm.

The Indianola girls and boys cross country teams hosted a meet on their home course Thursday evening, with the girls placing second and the boys seventh. The Indians girls scored 70 points led by Emily Naughton with a 5th place finish, Gracie Foster in 7th, and Joey Werling in 17th place to round out their top three finishers, while the Indians boys scored 148 points with Curtis Johnson and Logan Hoger placing 9th and 10th respectively. Both squads will next compete Tuesday at Knoxville.
