The Indianola School Board discussed the Return to Learn Plan at their meeting Monday, reviewing the Hybrid Educational Model and a framework for a return to full on-site learning. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News the district has always targeted a full return for all students, but still wants to provide those students learning remotely the best possible education.

“We began the Return to Learn Plan with the assumption that we wanted to have kids in school five days face-to-face. We were able to achieve that in our hybrid plan, we’ve been very happy with that and we feel it reflects the community needs and wishes as well. But of course right now the issue is the 90-minute shortened day release right now, which is pretty necessary for remote learners and gives teachers enough time for remote instruction.”
