The Twin Cedars Cross Country Squads will be top heavy with the schedule this week as The Sabers will run on back-to-back nights starting Monday in Nodaway Valley and then head to Honey Creek Resort on Moravia. Coach Trent Verwers tells KRLS Sports the two meets this week will be used more as a dress rehearsal for the upcoming State Qualifying Meet, knowing that his team may see some of those same teams in a couple of weeks.

Verwers:
“It’s nice that we have an entire week off before the State Qualifying Meet to get ourselves ready and using these meets as practice and we’re plateauing times a little bit, but at the end of the day we’re trying to get those times down.”

Verwers adds running in those meets will give his team an idea of where they are at heading into the end of the season.
