The City of Indianola has been awarded the Daniel Burnham Award for a Comprehensive Plan by the American Planning Association-Iowa Chapter. The comprehensive plan, titled Elevate Indianola, was approved by the Indianola City Council earlier this year after a 21-month review process, and contains over 160 recommendations to be followed in order to translate the community’s vision into a reality. City Manager Ryan Waller said the award is a remarkable example of a community effort, and extends congratulations to the Indianola community, the City Council, the Planning and Zoning Commission, the project management team, and City Staff.
