THRIVE Knoxville, the Marion County Historical Society, and Marion County Conservation have announced their partnership in creating a lighted display through Marion County Park in Knoxville called Merry-n-County Christmas. The deadline for organizations to sign up for a spot in this event is Thursday, October 15th. Organizer Curt Schwanebeck encourages anyone interested to sign up and help spread joy this holiday season.

“We’re looking for either individuals, families, non-profit groups, churches, businesses, to put together a homemade lighted Christmas display to have it on hand for people to watch, drive through the county park. You don’t have to get out and walk or anything, you don’t have to socialize with anybody, it’s your own private little family, and come through and see all the lighted displays that people put together. We’ve got plenty of room. Each parking spot has 110 volts to plug in and power up your Christmas lights. Have fun with it. Come out and put a good community effort into this, and we’ll all have a great, holly jolly Christmas.”

The displays will be set up in late November and on display through the Christmas season. Interested parties should contact Schwanebeck to secure their spot.
