The Pleasantville School Board met in regular session Tuesday. They received an update on the Silver Cord Program, discussed FAST literacy testing results, and discussed 2021 legislative session priorities.

The board approved the hiring of Matt Willoughby as a junior high head boys track and field coach, Collin Thomas as a ninth grade basketball coach, and Clayton Scheve as a volunteer basketball coach. They also approved three open enroll in and two open enroll out requests.

They held a discussion on several board policy revisions. Those changes can be viewed in their entirety here. The board accepted a bid from Bennett Waste and Recycling for garbage and sanitation services at a cost of $985 per month. They accepted the hearing dates for three hearings; continued participation in the instructional support program; proposed issuance of approximately $5,250,000 School Infrastructure Sales, Services, and Use Tax Revenue Bonds; and supporting the proposed use of SAVE revenue for an athletic facility infrastructure project. These hearings will be held November 10th, 2020.

They tabled a discussion on an engagement letter with Ahlers & Cooney for the stadium project. They approved an SBRC request for a special education deficit of $314,917.21.
