One of the ways Iowa has been able to keep up with demand for cleaning products, especially hand sanitizer, has been to produce the supplies through local businesses that weren’t originally started for that purpose. Warren County Emergency Management Coordinator Troy Bass tells KNIA News the pandemic has provided an opportunity for local businesses to shine.

“Independent distilleries in the Iowa have come forth and helped with a lot of the hand sanitizer by producing disinfectant through their distilleries. This has helped Iowa a lot whether it goes to schools or their communities. So that was a blessing in itself, and many of them are still doing this to help the COVID-19 response.”
