The Norwalk football team opens postseason play this evening when they travel to Glenwood in what will be the longest road trip of the season. The Warriors finished a disappointing 1-5 in the regular season, but will look to turn their fortunes around after an extra week of preparation. Glenwood is 5-2 overall, with the only two losses coming to #2 Harlan and #6 Lewis Central in district play. On the field, Norwalk will have the edge when it comes to experience, with several sophomores and juniors in the skill positions for Glenwood. Head Coach Paul Patterson says that this game will be won or lost based on how his team performs in the trenches.

The Rams will be in search of revenge after the Warriors dispatched Glenwood 42-28 in last season’s playoff opener in Norwalk. The Warriors have been placed in a postseason pod without a district champion, meaning that the next potential opponent is not yet set. Tonight’s winner will take on the winner of Creston at Lewis Central. Tonight’s game will air live on 94.3 KNIA with Jon Mohwinkle and Chris Larson calling the action. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30, with the opening kickoff from Glenwood scheduled for 7:00.
