Donna Boots and Kristin Schulz’s 8th Period Social Studies classes have been working on studying the United Nations 17 Global Goals and learning about using the problem solving process.

Some of the students were interested in learning more about Global Goal #16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and through problem solving, decided they wanted to honor local police heroes.

Country Catering, along with daughter Izzy Roose, made scotcheroos and many Middle School students made cards and signs as a way to honor the men and women that serve within the Pella Police Department. On Tuesday, some of the members of the department stopped by to say hello and to interact with students while the class surprised them with the treats and cards.
