The Pella volleyball team took the crown in the Little Hawkeye Conference tournament, as the Lady Dutch won all four of their matches to place first overall.

Pella swept Newton (21-12, 21-10) and Pella Christian (21-14, 21-10) in pool play, before edging Indianola in the game to get into the championship finals 2-1 (21-13, 17-21, 16-14). The Lady Dutch won two tough sets to sweep Oskaloosa for 1st place (26-24, 25-23). Pella next opens the Class 4A Regional playoffs at home Tuesday against Grinnell.

Indianola placed 4th in the Little Hawkeye Conference tournament they hosted Thursday afternoon. The Indians fell to Dallas Center-Grimes 2-1 (25-18, 21-25, 6-15) in the 3rd place match. In pool play, Indianola defeated Newton 2-1 (18-21, 21-19, 15-8) and swept Pella Christian (21-10, 21-15), but lost to eventual conference tournament champions Pella in three (13-21, 21-17, 14-16). Indianola will begin the regional playoffs in 5A at Johnston on Thursday, October 22nd.

Pella Christian finished in 5th, as in the final round, they knocked off Norwalk 2-0 (25-21, 28-26). The Eagles beat Newton in three sets (18-21, 21,12, 15-13), and lost to Pella and Indianola in pool play (10-21, 15-21). Pella Christian heads to the Knoxville tournament this Saturday morning before opening the 2A regional playoffs Wednesday by hosting Pleasantville.
