Knoxville finished runner-up at its own volleyball invitational on Saturday while Pella Christian got to the championship semi-finals.

The Panthers won their pool by defeating ADM in three sets 16-21, 21-8, and 15-2. Knoxville also beat West Marshall 21-15 and 21-13, and Iowa Falls 21-18 and 21-13 completed preliminary play 3-0. Knoxville then advanced to the championship bracket knocking off Pella Christian in two sets 21-13 and 21-16, but stumbled for the first time in four matches to Bondurant-Farrar getting swept in two sets 21-12 and 21-15.

Pella Christian started the day in pool play defeating Colfax Mingo in two sets 21-11 and 21-17, falling 2-1 to Bondurant-Farrar winning set one 21-19 but falling in sets two and three 21-10 and 15-12 and sweeping Carlisle 21-14 and 21-15 finishing second in pool play with a 2-1 record.The Eagles would round out their 2-2 day by falling to Knoxville in two sets.

Knoxville was led by Brittany Bacorn with 32 kills on the day while Maggie Wilkins had 65 digs and Marley McKay dealt out 90 assists. Pella Christian is now 16-16 on the season and will start class 2A regional play on Wednesday hosting Pleasantville, while Knoxville finishes regular season play with a 25-7 record and will host Clarke Monday in the first round of the class 3A regional.
