The USDA has announced an extension to their program that allows students to receive a free breakfast and lunch from school districts, and will be extended through the end of the school year. The Indianola Community School District is a participant in the program, and Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News all breakfast and lunch meals are currently free for all students; however the district highly encourages parents/guardians who might qualify to fill out the Iowa Eligibility Meal Application to apply for free and reduced status to receive the appropriate meal benefits when the program ends.
