Cody Boender

The senior leader of the Pella Christian football team was front and center in the Eagles playoff-spot clinching win this past Friday, a role he will likely have to play if they are going to advance to the semifinals.

Boender was the key player in Pella Christian’s 21-19 win over Panorama, running for 141 yards and racking up eight tackles. Most importantly, Boender intercepted two Panorama passes and forced a fumble that prevented a go-ahead Panthers touchdown late in the contest.

Boender says he has had to embrace the role of leading the team this season, and is thankful for the trust his teammates place in him to come up in big moments.

PLAYER PROFILE OF BOENDER THAT AIRED BEFORE FRIDAY’S GAME:

The Eagles head to No. 2 Van Meter in the Class 1A round of 16 postseason this Friday. Coverage begins at 6:30 on 92.1 KRLS.
