On the road at #5 Waukee for the first round of the playoffs, the Indianola football squad will have a tall task in front of them, stopping a Warrior running attack that has rushed for over 1600 yards on the season, including 1200 yard rusher Alex Lindquist. The Indians will have to replicate their performance from last week’s game against Johnston, where the Dragons mustered up just 80 yards on the ground en route to an Indians 30-7 victory. Head coach Eric Kluver tells KNIA Sports the Indians will want to go out and do something that is not common for the program, win a round of 16 postseason game.
“We have a chance to go win a football game, that is the challenge this week. I know our guys are going to be really motivated to go do that.”
The Indians have not beaten Waukee in recent history, going 0-4 against the Warriors in the regular season, as well as one playoff loss in 2008.
