The Knoxville Recreation Center is transitioning into its winter programs, but restrictions remain in place. Swim team registration is open, but meets this season are not likely to occur. Parks and Recreation Director Brandon Nemmers says that programs will still take place, but not in their usual form.
“We do have some restrictions in place on our room capacities in our facilities, but we do have some programs opening up. One is swim team. We’re going to try our best to get that program off and running safely. In a normal year, we would have swim meets, but right now, we don’t know how that’s going to be possible, so that’s to be determined. Our general use of facilities and fitness classes are what we have going here. Strange year, but we’ll get through it here at some point.”
Swim team registration is open through November 30th. More information on upcoming programs at the Knoxville Recreation Center is available here.
