With the election over, several candidates who emerged victorious are hitting the ground running in preparation of taking office in 2021. Brooke Boden won the election for State Representative District 26, and tells KNIA News there will be a lot to take in over the next several days.
“Right now we are currently finishing up everything from the campaign making sure everything is cleaned up and the campaign is taken care of. Monday I will be meeting up at the legislature and we will be talking about moving forward in the Capital and what that will look like this year. I’ve taken a few phone calls from constituents already, so I’m just ready to roll up my sleeves and get ready working.”
Darren Heater will represent District 3 on the Warren County Board of Supervisors, and tells KNIA News he has already had several meetings with counterparts to get ready to serve.
“It’s time to go to work. And I’ve heard from the Mayor of Indianola and the Indianola City Council. There has already been meetings on the auspice that I would become elected, and we are already discussing strategic planning and some collaborations between the school district, the Indianola City Council, and Warren County. And I think the citizens of Warren County are going to be pleased with the level of engagement and the level of transparency.”
Candidates will take the Oath of Office on January 11th, 2021.
