The PCM football team defeated West Marshall Friday evening to clinch a spot in the UNI-Dome. This is the fourth season that the program has reached the ultimate destination. The Mustangs previously made appearances in 2005, 2006 and 2018.

PCM is 2-2 in games played in the UNI-Dome, with the two wins coming in the 2018 season, which was PCM’s only state title to date.

PCM’s opponent, the Waukon Indians, will be making their third consecutive and fifth overall UNI-Dome appearance. Waukon’s previous trips were in 2013, 2017, 2018 and 2019. The Inians are 4-3 in the dome, winning the state championship in 2017. Waukon has made it to the championship game in three of its four appearances, with losses in the final coming in 2013 and 2019.

PCM and Waukon square off in the semifinal round Saturday at 7:30 p.m., with live coverage on 95.3 KNIA and KRLS3.
