Governor Kim Reynolds’ proclamation Tuesday regarding gathering will affect high school sports in the coming weeks. However, the semifinal and championship games at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls will be conducted as scheduled, with no further restrictions than previously planned.

Due to the building’s large size, these events are being regarded as the equivalent to outdoor events, where groups of 100 or more must all wear masks. Additionally, the City of Cedar Falls already had a mask mandate in place, meaning that all spectators would have been required to wear masks anyway. Through reserved seating at the UNI-Dome, spectators will be seated in pods and will be at least six feet away from other groups.

PCM takes on Waukon in a Class 2A semifinal on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., with pregame coverage beginning at 7:00 on 95.3 KNIA and KRLS3. The full statement from the Iowa High School Athletic Association can be found here.
