Local businesses and schools celebrated Veterans Day Wednesday, honoring all of those who have served the country in the armed forces.

Indianola schools put together a video honoring veterans, with students stating what freedom means to them and a performance by the choir singing patriotic music.

The Indianola Hy-Vee served a free drive-thru breakfast serving over 300 veterans. Indianola Hy-Vee Manager of Perishables Cat Burnett tells KNIA News despite what is normally an in-person event with a lot of interaction, it was good to find a way to honor veterans safely and thank them for their service.
