Two Tulip City volleyball players earned All-State honorable mention recognition following impressive junior campaigns.

Bailey Van Voorst of Pella was an honoree in Class 4A and close friend and Pella Christian Outside Hitter Avey Amelse was chosen in Class 2A. Both were also All-District and All-Little Hawkeye Conference First Team selections in 2020.

Van Voorst racked up 317 kills with .188 hitting efficiency percentage, which is 8th best among 4A athletes. Avey’s 293 kills ranked 20th best in 2A and had the 9th most service aces (56) among 2A servers.

Van Voorst and Amelse will be focusing on club volleyball this winter.
