The Norwalk girls basketball team has completed its first two weeks of practice, with the first game of the season right around the corner. The Warriors have not had a winning season since 2010-2011, but with a solid group of returning talent, have a chance to turn the program around this year. Senior Bren Moritz, a future Upper Iowa Peacock, returns as last year’s top scorer and rebounder with 15.2 points per game and 7.9 boards per game. Junior Jocelyn Bice returns as the team’s point guard, coming off a season where she posted 12.7 points per game. Head Coach Jill Martin says that with the talent and the culture that’s been built within the program, this could be the year to see the team flourish.

The Warriors open the season with a girls-only non-conference tilt at ADM on Monday. The opening tip in Adel is scheduled for 7:15. The first broadcast of Norwalk girls basketball is Tuesday, December 1st at Ballard, a game that will air live on 94.3 KNIA.
